Songs are probably one of the most intimate expressions of the human soul. And because the Psalms are actually songs, they capture the most honest, personal, and emotional display of mans expression of his faith in his Creator. The writer of Psalms does not inhibit his deepest feelings toward God whether they are emotions that speak of praise or doubt, joy or sorrow. Heart songs best define what Psalms are all about.
